Como Instalar LibreOffice 3.5.6 - Tradução

If you don’t want to wait until Ubuntu 11.04, you can install LibreOffice now on your Ubuntu 10.10 machine.
I will show you how to install it with the Terminal. Open the Terminal under Applications > Accessories > Terminal.
First you will need to remove OpenOffice. You can’t have both OpenOffice and LibreOffice installed.

sudo apt-get purge openoffice*.*

Run the following commands one line at a time to add the LibreOffice repository and install Libreoffice:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libreoffice libreoffice-gnome language-support-en

Ao iniciar a 1ª vez o LibreOffice ele estará em inglês, para que ele fique em nosso idioma(português do Brasil), basta executar o comando abaixo:

sudo apt-get install libreoffice-help-pt-br libreoffice-l10n-pt-br

Quando terminar de instalar os pacotes, será necessário reiniciar sua sessão.
Pronto, agora seu LibreOffice já esta em português do Brasil,
